The Detroit Pistons traded into the second round Wednesday to make their fourth pick of the 2020 NBA draft.
The Utah Jazz traded backup big man Tony Bradley and the No. 38 pick in the draft to Detroit for future considerations. The product: explosive Vanderbilt guard, Saben Lee.
“Saben Lee is an athletic score-first point guard. He’s got playmaking ability, can really finish at the rim, shot a ton of free throws,” ESPN draft analyst Jay Bilas said following the pick. “He loves to get into your body, really uses pump fakes well.”
Those dekes helped Lee, a 6-foot-2 Arizona native, get to the free throw line 207 times, Bilas said. His 6-9 wingspan allows him get off a fluid stepback jump shot.

Lee’s highlights show some of his athleticism. ESPN’s Bobby Marks said last week that he was impressed with Bey’s combine results, calling him one of the more underrated prospects of the draft.
His outside shooting touch is a perceived weakness, as he hit just 32% of his 3-pointers last season. While Bilas complimented his playmaking, others wonder if his focus on putting the ball in the basket hinders his ability to be a plus NBA passer.
