Klay Thompson destroys Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis for criticizing Rodney McGruder comments

Klay Thompson has a lot of time to spare, and is very willing to throw hands on social media.

Thompson unfortunately is missing his second straight season due to knee issues, leaving the Warriors without the second splash brother as the core ages into the latter end of their primes. Yet, despite not being active for his team on the court, Thompson remains a vocal part of the squad off of it.

On Friday night, in the Warriors eventual win over the Detroit Pistons, the team got into a shouting match with Rodney McGruder. While the majority of NBA fans haven’t heard of McGruder, they know his story very well now after the likes of Draymond Green and Thompson went at him in the postgame press conference.

Klay Thompson’s comments about Rodney McGruder were just the beginning

Green backed up those sentiments with the following: “When the [expletive] did Rodney McGruder become the tough guy on the team?”

Shortly thereafter, McGruder’s teammate Wayne Ellington clapped back, stating that Green and Thompson went too far.

“First of all, I think it’s very unprofessional and definitely not classy for somebody to attack Rodney’s professional career the way it was attacked,” Ellington told reporters Sunday. “To be honest, the guy over there, Juan, is the one who started the whole thing. Rod is a man of respect, like myself, and I felt like he took offense to whatever the guy was saying to me in the first half.”

Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis agrees wholeheartedly, but don’t expect Thompson to take that lightly the next time he sees the 35-year-old.

There can’t be a night in the NBA without some form of unnecessary drama. The Pistons, despite their status as a sure bet to play a large part in this year’s NBA Draft lottery, have gotten the attention of the mighty Warriors.
