Detroit’s own George Gervin and Michigan State’s — and Lansing native — Magic Johnson also made the list to little surprise — they were both on the NBA’s top-50 list 25 years ago.
Of the Pistons’ selections, Iverson — who played 54 games in Detroit from 2008-09 — McAdoo, and Rodman are the newest additions on the list. All of the players who made the NBA’s 50 Greatest Players list retained their spots.
The NBA will be celebrating the 75th anniversary all season long, with a commemoration of this diamond anniversary at the NBA’s All Star Game in Cleveland in February.
