The Detroit Pistons have added another new face to their front office.

Former Los Angeles Lakers executive Ryan West has been hired as a scout, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Saturday.

The son of NBA legend and longtime front-office executive Jerry West, Ryan was previously the director of player personnel for the Lakers. He was with the organization for a decade before his departure last July.

The Lakers had a number of successful draft picks during his tenure, including Brandon Ingram, Julius Randle, Ivica Zubac, Jordan Clarkson, Josh Hart and Kyle Kuzma.

West’s hire is the latest move in what has been a busy offseason for the Pistons. Troy Weaver was hired as the general manager in July, and David Mincberg was hired as an assistant GM in July.

James Edwards III of The Athletic initially reported the news.
