Detroit Pistons hire Pacers’ Jason Buckner as director of draft scouting

Jason Buckner, who has served eight years as manager of scouting for the Indiana Pacers, has joined the Detroit Pistons as their director of draft scouting, league sources with direct knowledge of the situation tell IndyStar. 

Buckner, who also served in a dual role as regional scout the last three years and has an expertise in getting background on prospects, had already left the Pacers before the firing of coach Nate McMillan in late August.

His departure isn’t connected to that decision or the hiring of Nate Bjorkgren to replace McMillan.
