Welcome to Detroit Pistons game score, live updates and analysis against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the season opener for both teams.

The 2020-21 NBA season kicked off Tuesday with two games, but Wednesday features a full slate as the league tries to jam a 72-game season into five months of play.

For the Pistons, it’s the official debut of a new era under general manager Troy Weaver, who made a bunch of trades and signings during a wild week in mid-November.

The Pistons, who went 20-46 last season for the fifth-worst record in the league, have three first-round rookies on the 15-man roster in point guard Killian Hayes (No. 7), center Isaiah Stewart (No. 16) and forward Saddiq Bey (No. 19). Hayes and Bey should garner significant minutes to open the season.
