Welcome to Detroit Pistons game score, live updates and analysis as they visit Trae Young and the new-look Atlanta Hawks on Monday in Atlanta.

It’s the third game of the season for both teams.

The Pistons lost in double overtime in their home opener against Cleveland on Saturday, squandering numerous late leads — as they did at Minnesota in their season opener.

With the Pistons in the middle of a three-game-in-four-night stretch, veterans Blake Griffin, who played 44 minutes on Saturday, and Derrick Rose, who played 33 minutes, will get Monday off. Detroit will host Golden State on Tuesday. Therefore, the young guys should finally see more minutes vs. the Hawks.

Atlanta is hot, as Young scored 36 points in a 124-104 win at Chicago in the season opener, then dropped 37 points at Memphis in a 122-112 victory Saturday.

After going 20-47 last season, Atlanta attempted to jumpstart its rebuild, adding Danilo Gallinari, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Rajon Rondo in free agency last month. It is a favorite to make the leap into the Eastern Conference playoffs this season for the first time since 2017. Though they have some injuries, the Hawks have a deep rotation with an interesting mix of young players and veterans. They drafted USC big man Onyeka Okongwu sixth overall, one pick ahead of the Pistons taking Killian Hayes. Okongwu has yet to debut while rehabbing a foot injury.

The Pistons won two of three from the Hawks last season.
