Frank Jackson will return to the Detroit Pistons on a two-year deal, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. Jackson was one of three restricted free agents the Pistons were reportedly interested in re-signing. Previously Saben Lee signed a three-year deal to return to Detroit. Hamidou Diallo is now the only unsigned restricted free agent.
Jackson came to Detroit last season after two years as a reserve for the New Orleans Pelicans. He instantly became one of Detroit’s most dangerous 3-point threats, and with the departure of veteran Wayne Ellington, he’ll be a crucial member of the Pistons rotation as it looks to create spacing around second-year guard Killian Hayes and rookie Cade Cunningham.
Jackson shot 40% from 3 on nearly four attempts per game (more than seven per 36 minutes). More than half of his shots last season came from the perimeter. His shooting, and his willingness to fire away, seemed to increase as the season went. he had his best run from April 10 – May 10 when he scored more than 15 points 10 times. In that span, he also scored a career-high 25 points and hit 6 threes against the Charlotte Hornets.
