Detroit Pistons add franchise veteran George David as assistant GM

The Detroit Pistons saw a couple of key departures in their front office in June. Now, they’ve made a key addition.

The Pistons have offically hired George David as an assistant general manager, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. David is a veteran of the organization, previously spending nearly 18 years with the Pistons from 1996-2014.

He was initially hired as a video coordinator by former head coach Doug Collins, and served as director of player personnel and director of scouting before being promoted to assistant GM in 2012.

David’s hire comes weeks after the organization parted ways with former assistant GM David Mincberg in June. Former senior director of player personnel Gregg Polinsky also departed the organization in June.
