Pistons vs. Nets GameThread: Game Time, TV, Odds, and More

Today’s goal for the Detroit Pistons — don’t let the Brooklyn Nets shoot 65% from the floor and 52% from three. That’s what happened in the first matchup between these two teams — a 117-91 thumping that the Pistons are still trying to recover from.

The good news is even as the struggles for the team continue, we are starting to see glimmers of progress. The entire team had a great first-half against the Sixers, and Cade Cunningham notched his first career double-double even as he is struggling mightily with his jump shot. He’s getting into the lane, getting to the free-throw line, playing quality defense and finding teammates and giving them the ball to create easy looks.

Killian Hayes has also been on the upswing a bit. He’s continuing to play solid defense and he is getting more aggressive and more comfortable finding his offense and picking his spots. Unfortunately, he might sit out tonight with a sprained thumb but as of now is a game-time decision. If he sits, I wonder if Cory Joseph takes his starting spot, if Saben Lee gets some run or if they just slide Cade over to point guard and have Josh Jackson, Frank Jackson or Hamidou Diallo start.
