Frank Jackson, who has been in the NBA’s health and safety protocols since Jan. 6, has cleared them and could return for for the Detroit Pistons‘ home game against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. Jackson became Detroit’s ninth player to enter protocols on Jan. 6.
Jackson’s injury status was updated to “Return to Competition Reconditioning” on Thursday evening — the NBA’s designation for players who exit health and safety protocols. He’ll miss the Pistons’ home game Friday against the Toronto Raptors.
Jackson was the ninth Piston in protocol; with his exit, the Pistons no longer have any players in protocols. There was a brief scare earlier this week when coach Dwane Casey tested positive, but he was cleared Tuesday after testing negative twice. The organization believes the test was a false positive.
In 33 games this season, Jackson is averaging a career-high 10.7 points.
