Detroit Pistons 2022 NBA Summer League schedule revealed

The NBA announced its 2022 Summer League schedule Monday, revealing who the Detroit Pistons’ young talents will go up against this July in Las Vegas.

The Pistons, who finished last season 23-59 and hold the No. 5 pick in Thursday’s NBA draft, went 3-2 in the 2021 NBA Summer League. Cade Cunningham made his unofficial debut for Detroit last summer, averaging  18.6 points, 2.3 assists, 5.6 rebounds and 1.6 steals in three games.

The Pistons will first take on the Portland Trail Blazers at midnight ET July 7. Portland (27-55 last season) holds the No. 7 pick Thursday after not having any selections in 2021.

Next, Detroit faces the Washington Wizards at 6 p.m. ET on July 9. The Wizards, who have the No. 10 pick, took forward Corey Kispert with the 15th selection in 2021. They ended last season 35-47.

The Pistons then go up against the Pacers at 9 p.m. July 12. The Pacers draft immediately after Detroit at No. 6 and took guard Chris Duarte with the No. 13 pick last year. Indiana went 25-57 last season.

The last scheduled game for Detroit is vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. on July 14. The Cavaliers, who have the 14th selection,  took power forward/center Evan Mobley with the third pick last year. Cleveland finished the regular season 44-38 and lost in the play-in.

The 2022 Summer League Championship is set for 3 p.m. July 17 in Las Vegas. The NBA draft begins 8 p.m. Thursday on ABC and ESPN.
