Pistons’ Summer League roster includes Cade Cunningham, Saddiq Bey, Jaden Ivey

Detroit News

The Pistons are gearing up for the NBA Summer League, which begins next week in Las Vegas.

The team released the Summer League roster on Thursday, which includes Cade Cunningham, Saddiq Bey and Isaiah Stewart, along with first-round pick Jaden Ivey, who was selected No. 5 overall.

Jalen Duren, who was selected 13th overall and was acquired in a draft-day trade, isn’t initially listed on the roster, because the trade with the New York Knicks has not been finalized. When that’s done, Duren likely will be added.

It’s not clear how much — or even if — the Pistons’ core young group of Cunningham, Bey and Stewart will play in the four-game exhibition slate, but having them on the roster allows them to practice with the rookies and start developing chemistry.

The roster also includes third-year guards Killian Hayes and Saben Lee, along with Jimmy and Buddy Boeheim — sons of legendary Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim — as well as two-way player Braxton Key and two of last year’s second-round picks, Isaiah Livers and Balsa Koprivica.

The Pistons open Summer League play on July 7 against the Portland Trail Blazers.
