The Detroit Pistons have been characterized in a lot of ways over the years.

Tough. Defensive-minded. Nasty.

LaVar Ball ,according to Bleacher Report, added an adjective most probably haven’t heard associated with an NBA franchise when talking Monday about the team that released his son, LiAngelo.

“The people in Detroit are great. I love the fans, but the franchise over there is raggedy as hell,” LaVar Ball said Monday. “They don’t know a good player.”

Ball was answering questions as part of an “ask me anything” session with Bleacher Report. One person wondered how the father of three professional basketball players felt about his middle son being waived before he ever logged a preseason minute.

LiAngelo Ball and two others were released after the Pistons’ second preseason game Sunday.

“I definitely have thoughts on that. The people in Detroit are great. I love the fans, but the franchise over there is raggedy as hell. They don’t know a good player. I was giving them a Lottery pick for free! Has the skills to play and the notoriety to bring everybody to the game. How do you throw that out the window? They’re gonna learn the hard way. My boys are gonna end up together playing somewhere. Gelo can shoot the lights out. That was raggedy what they did. But hey, they’re gonna learn the hard way.”

LiAngelo Ball played overseas before going undrafted and was invited to Pistons camp.
