The Pistons’ work week has taken a couple of shifts in the past couple of days.

Tuesday’s home game against the San Antonio Spurs was postponed because of a positive COVID test within the Spurs organization. And now, Wednesday’s road game against the Dallas Mavericks has been postponed because of severe weather in Texas, the NBA announced.

Instead of the Mavs — Texas Gov. Greg Abbott recently declared a state of emergency — the Pistons will play in Chicago on Wednesday because both teams have had recent postponements. Tipoff is at 8 p.m.

The Pistons and Bulls weren’t scheduled to meet in the first half of the schedule that the league released, which includes games through March 2.

Any games in the first half of the season will be made up in the second half of the season, which begins after the All-Star Game on March 7.

Including the Spurs game, the Pistons have had three postponed games, all because of COVID-19 contact tracing.

Instead of having a back-to-back to start a long road trip, the Pistons weren’t scheduled to play until Friday at Memphis before two games in Orlando on Sunday and Tuesday, and finishing the road trip Feb. 24 at New Orleans.
