ANALYSIS: Pistons face big tank competition after Orlando trades its 3 best players

Game notes: It’s the return of Blake Griffin to Detroit, less than three weeks after he signed with the Nets following a buyout in early March that will save the Pistons $13.3 million. In two games with Brooklyn, both wins, Griffin is averaging five points (4-for-6 shooting) and 3.5 rebounds in 17 minutes. The Nets are coming off their worst loss of the season Wednesday, dropping a 118-88 decision in Utah without any of their stars, including MVP contender James Harden. … The teams have split the first two games of the season series, with the Pistons winning at LCA in February, and the Nets winning in Brooklyn two weeks ago, 100-95. … Kevin Durant (hamstring) and Kyrie Irving (personal) are both out. … Hamidou Diallo is expected to make his Piston debut.
