Detroit Free Press followers on social media are pleased about the Detroit Pistons’ 2021 NBA draft class, grading Thursday’s picks with a resounding A.

“Best scenario for a Pistons fan! So much to look forward to,” replied @nich0las.0 to a @freep Instagram story Friday.

The numbers: 77% of the @detroitfreepress followers on Instagram and 80% of the @freep followers on Twitter graded an A for the Pistons’ draft.

The Pistons selected Oklahoma State’s Cade Cunningham as their No. 1 overall pick. And hours prior to the NBA draft ceremony, fans were excited about the mere possibility of Cunningham heading to the Motor City.

On a Freep Instagram post, Pistons fans predicted how Cunningham would be picked, as well as other draft expectations. “History being made and the franchise restoring itself to championship-caliber in the near future,” @icanjesbme wrote.

Cunningham may have been the star of the night, but other Pistons’ selections also were positive to the Freep followers.

“Keeping Isaiah home is a great idea!” shared @kevinshane about the Pistons’ decision on picking Kalamazoo native Isaiah Livers. He was the No. 42 overall pick, and while he’s recovering from a stress injury in his right foot, he had a standout four-year career at Michigan.
