The Detroit Pistons suffered yet another injury blow during Wednesday’s game against the New York Knicks at Little Caesars Arena.

Midway through the second quarter, Frank Jackson rolled his right ankle on the foot of a Knicks player after contesting a shot at the rim. He was visibly in pain, and had to be helped off of the floor. The Pistons, who trailed 48-41 at halftime, quickly announced Jackson would not return for the rest of the game.

Jackson was one of the Pistons’ few remaining healthy players as the organization navigates a COVID-19 outbreak. They currently have eight players in health and safety protocols. Jerami Grant (right thumb surgery), Kelly Olynyk (left knee sprain) and rookies Isaiah Livers and two-way forward Chris Smith (return to competition conditioning) are also sidelined.

Within the last week, the Pistons (5-27) have called up seven G League players to fill out their depleted roster.
