Detroit Pistons legend Isiah Thomas has had beef with Michael Jordan for longer than most can remember, and he’s proving it’s not over yet.
Former Detroit Pistons legend Isiah Thomas will evidently never move on from his beef with Michael Jordan dating back to the 1990s.
Even though it’s been three decades and neither Thomas or Jordan have played in the NBA in at least 20 years, some things are just never forgotten.
Thomas had some NSFW thoughts on Jordan while watching The Last Dance, proving the two still haven’t come to a resolution.
Thomas’ Pistons and Jordan’s Chicago Bulls had a huge rivalry, so it’s no surprise the two maintained a rivalry as well. The Pistons were one of the best teams in the late 80s and early 90s, winning the NBA Finals in both 1989 and 1990. The Bulls went on to turn the tables and won the next three championships, giving the Pistons a new tough narrative to be under.
Jordan was always a tough player to take down, but Thomas led the Pistons and had a strategy in place by not letting him take to the air. Jordan revealed in The Last Dance that he used their strategy to implement a new one of his own to throw them off, ultimately leading to the Pistons defeats.
Perhaps more importantly, Thomas was left off of the famed 1992 Dream Team for the Olympics with Jordan being that team’s leader being one of the reasons as to why.
Their beef was understandable in terms of competition, and it’s understandable why Thomas is mad over Jordan’s comment in the documentary.

There are two sides to every story, but it’s undeniable that Jordan called Thomas an ‘a**hole’ during the documentary. That’s enough reasoning to make anyone mad, and Thomas understandably clapped back at Jordan.
The beef doesn’t seem to be brought up often, but this will undoubtedly throw fuel on the fire to resurface old tensions. According to EuroHoops, Thomas is after a public apology.
“When I was watching ‘The Last Dance,’ I’m sitting there and I’m watching it with my family and I’m thinking everything is good. And then this guy comes on television and he says that he hates me and then he calls me an a**hole. And then I proceed to watch a whole documentary about him being an a**hole. I’m like wait a minute, time out. Until I get a public apology, this beef is gonna go on for a long long time, cause I’m from the west side of Chicago.”
Some tensions never die, but Jordan’s comment certainly didn’t help the matter.
