Game notes: The Cavaliers have turned their franchise around over the past two years and now stand to earn a playoff berth for the first time since LeBron James left five seasons ago. The Cavs are fourth in the Eastern Conference, meanwhile the Pistons are the worst team in the East.

The Cavs have won all three previous matchups this season vs. the Pistons: 112-88 on Nov. 4 in Detroit; 102-94 on Nov. 27 in Detroit; 113-85 on Feb. 8 in Cleveland. The Pistons have the 28th-ranked defensive rating, while the Cavs are No. 3, led by the frontcourt of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. They allow a league-low 106.7 points per game. And they have one of the game’s most potent backcourts in Donovan Mitchell (27.5 ppg, 4.8 assists) and Darius Garland (22 ppg, 7.9 assists). Bojan Bogdanovic leads the Pistons at 21.6 ppg and Jaden Ivey averages 15.4 ppg and 4.6 assists.
