Troy Weaver’s Detroit Pistons news conference: What was said in year-end meeting

Detroit Free Press

Detroit Pistons general manager Troy Weaver takes the podium for his end-of-season news conference Tuesday at 1:10 p.m. at the team’s practice facility in Detroit. You can follow live updates below.

This comes two days after one of the worst seasons in franchise history finally ended.

Through Weaver’s three seasons, the Pistons have posted the franchise’s worst three-year record ever as they rebuild a franchise that hasn’t won a playoff game in 15 years.

He has a lot on his plate this offseason, beginning with hiring a new head coach for the first time, after Dwane Casey left his post as coach to move into the front office. (Casey will take questions at 1 p.m., just before Weaver.) Weaver has dozens of candidates to sort through, including a handful of well-regarded coaches who might be near the top of the list.
