Jack Nunge, former Xavier University forward, joins NBA Summer League roster

Jack Nunge, who played the past two seasons for the Xavier University Musketeers, is on the Detroit Pistons’ NBA Summer League team roster, and will wear No. 48.

The Pistons’ summer-league schedule includes four games at Las Vegas’ Thomas & Mack Center: Sat., July 8 vs. Orlando; Sun., July 9 vs. Houston; Wed., July 12 vs. Toronto; and Fri., July 14 vs. San Antonio.

Nunge averaged 14.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 29.3 minutes per game in 37 games last season for the Muskies. In 73 games over two seasons at XU, he averaged 13.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 27.9 minutes per game. He spent four seasons at Iowa before transferring to Xavier.

Nunge’s XU teammate the past two seasons, Adam Kunkel, is on the Golden State Warriors’ summer-league roster. And another teammate, Colby Jones, was selected in the second round of the NBA draft and traded to the Sacramento Kings.
