Pistons Summer League Schedule Released

Detroit Bad Boys

For all of those sickos out there like me who need to watch Summer League Basketball, the Pistons’ Summer League Schedule has just been released.

They will face Philadelphia on July 13, Houston on July 15, Chicago on July 16 and the New York Knicks on July 19. There is also usually another game or two depending on how the team does during these four games

In year’s past the league has generally tried to have marquee rookie matchups in the first game for the Pistons, but that doesn’t appear to be the case this year.

I would assume both Ausar Thompson and Amen Thompson as 2nd year players will still participate in Summer League, so you will have a rematch of the twins against Houston in the 2nd game.

The Pistons are yet to release their full Summer League roster, but I would assume Thompson and the newly-drafted Ron Holland II will be playing. Second round pick Bobi Klintman may or may not play depending on when the trade for his rights gets finalized. Marcus Sasser also probably plays again this year.

There has been a few rumors of some undrafted free agents signing 2-way deals and Exhibit 10 deals trickling out, so I would assume some of those players will also play in Summer League.

Right now, the Pistons still have to deal with the elephant in the room of currently not having a coach. The assumption is that they want to have one in place before Summer League, so we will see if that actually happens.
