If you want to know the definition of a potential statement game, this game is it. The Detroit Pistons are facing one of their division rivals, one of the best teams in their conference, and the team who fired their head coach despite years of success. The Pistons are 11-point dogs for a reason, but I imagine they will bring a little extra fight to Rocket Mortgage Field House tonight.
A win would be the first for the PIstons against the Cavs stretching back to February 2022. They have lost 10 straight to Cleveland since. The Cavs are in the midst of a three-game losing streak and trying to right the ship. They lost to the Rockets twice and a banged-up Sixers team sandwiched in between. However, it’s not like they are getting blown out. Those three losses were by a collective eight points.
It hasn’t been the team’s offense that has let them down, and Detroit will have its hands full trying to contain the dynamic attack of guards Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland with the X factor of Evan Mobley thrown in.
